Module 2 - Managing Teams and Performance Management - places you into teams of approximately 10 where you will remain for the the duration of the Module. In these teams you will learn to lead, be part of a team and reflect on that process.
Module 2 differs in format from Module 1 and may have you approach learning in a way that you have not experienced before. The Module is split into distinct themes that will cover aspects of both team and performance management: for one of these weekly themes you will be given the opportunity to 'lead' your team. The reading for this module does not appear in a traditional learning material format. Instead there are weekly internet based articles, sections from web-based books and videos to view and discuss. Each week you will work within your Module team on activities that will help you to contextualise what you have read, thinking about their application to the police and the link to your area of working.

Module 4 - Plan, Lead and Implement Change/ Leadership for Managers – places you in teams of approximately 15 where you will remain for the duration of the Module.
Module 4 returns to a more traditional learning material format - there is a lot of reading for this module which is supported by internet based articles. Short video clips are also provided which are designed to give you additional support on the topic and also to appeal to the more visual/auditory learners amongst you. The Module consists of four distinct parts and you will work through them sequentially. Each part is followed by an assessment.
The Module is designed to enable you to develop the skills require to plan change and to develop a strategy to lead change in a way which will secure its implementation in an organisation. You will build on the existing skills, knowledge and capabilities that you have already learned in Modules 1 and 3 to develop leadership skills and personal effectiveness required in modern organisations.
Throughout the Module you are encouraged to think about change within Police Scotland and you will be introduced to Police Scotland’s Project Management Approach.
